A Television Academy will be set up in Kerala for giving training for new comers in the visual media, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy yesterday said.
The Academy would be set up based on the model of Press Academy under the State Information and Public Relation Department, he said.
Stating the Visual media would be considered as an industry, he said a separate accreditation committee Would be constituted for providing accreditation facility to the visual media persons.
An Electronic Media Park would be set up in Kalamassery HMT Campus, he also said.
A Police-Media Coordination Committee would be formed to resist atrocities against journalists, he added.
A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting between the Chief Minister and the members of Kerala Television Federation here yesterday at his office, official sources said.
