With regard to Smart
City deal, the State Cabinet has
decided today to serve termination notice to TECOM demanding the cancelation of
deal. After getting legal opinion , the
Government have decided to inform its inability to give free hold of the land with
right to sell, as demanded by TECOM. The letter says that if TECOM fails toIf
no reply is received with in 15 days, TECOM was informed that it would be construed as backing off from the
deal.
The cabinet also for the payment of compensation package for acquiring land for
the NH expansion. The land owners would be paid 10% more of the exisitng land
value. The government would submit a review petition in SC against the order
limiting ration for the BPL card holders only. Another important decision taken
in today's meeting is to proclaim 17,742 acre in Munnar as eclologically
fragile land.
