KPCC executive meeting begins

KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala assured youth and women would be provided due place in the list of Congress candidates for the Assembly Elections.
He was making the introductory remarks at the KPCC executive committee meeting which commenced here. The KPCC president requested leaders of the sister concerns to keep off from making comments in the media regarding seat sharing. He pointed out debate in the media is not healthy for the party in the present circumstances.
The Idukki DCC leadership expressed their dissent against Kerala Congress (M)’s claim for the Thodupuzha case with Roy K Paulose requesting the KPCC leadership not to surrender before KM Mani regarding the seat.
Paulose made these comments while participating in the executive meeting. Former KPCC president K Muraleedharan who made a comeback to the party after a long gap of six years is attending today’s meeting.
The meeting is expected to appoint an election committee to select candidates, besides discussing the norms for candidate selection, sources said. AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi, who had been slated to attend the executive meeting, cancelled his trip, sources said.
